Professional Services

Counseling

Whether you’ve identified an area of life you’re ready to transform or you’re just curious about ways to feel your best, counseling can help. I assist clients as they develop insight about their personal narratives and bring their lives into alignment with their most deeply held values and aspirations. I also provide comprehensive mental health diagnostic and treatment services.

Coaching

Don’t need a therapist but still want to work on some things? I offer strengths-based coaching for individuals without current psychotherapy needs who are seeking immediate, actionable solutions for personal and professional goals. Coaching is a collaborative process in which I help clients identify their goals, resources, and plans for immediate progress.

Consulting

I consult with behavioral health companies looking to develop programs, improve compliance, streamline clinical operations, and prepare for inspections and audits. I also provide businesses of any kind with workshops and trainings to help their teams stay well and prevent burnout. I tailor workplace wellness trainings to meet your company’s specific needs.

About Me

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. I have helped people at each stage of mental health treatment, from acute psychiatric hospitalization and residential treatment to outpatient therapy. I have received specialized training in trauma therapy, animal-assisted interventions, neurodevelopmental disabilities, and working with licensed professionals, such as attorneys and healthcare providers. My practice has focused primarily on treating adults with trauma, stress and anxiety, relationship conflict, distorted thinking, addictive disorders, and family of origin issues.

I also a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), which is a specialty I pursued because of my passion for helping people recover from the effects of substance use. The intergenerational effects of addiction are pervasive in our society, and it is the highest honor to help people find hope, healing, and lifelong recovery.

I strive to always practice with cultural competence and humility and to be an ally to communities of color, diverse ethnicities, and the LGBTQ+ community. I respect all genders, orientations, and identities. I look forward to hearing from you about how we might collaborate to help you reach your personal goals.

Specialty Clinical Practice

Anxiety

Feeling stressed? I help clients develop relaxation and coping skills in order to quickly feel calmer and build resilience. I also specialize in treating underlying issues such as: panic attacks, generalized anxiety, obsessions, compulsions, distorted thinking, agoraphobia, and distress intolerance.

Relationships

Whether you’re in a partnership, dating, or dealing with people at your work or home, relationships are tricky. I help clients develop relationship skills and work on areas like: codependency, family of origin issues, communication, avoidance, sexual issues, personal identity, and impaired attachment.

Trauma

Painful experiences can change the way we think about ourselves and the world around us. I use somatic, experiential, and cognitive strategies to help clients recover from the effects of trauma, including PTSD, diminished self-worth, pervasive ‘fight or flight’ response, and distorted thinking.

Professionals

Being in a demanding profession can make the other challenges of life feel even harder. I specialize in working with professionals, such as attorneys and healthcare providers, who encounter issues like time famine, work/life imbalance, vicarious trauma, toxic work culture, and compassion fatigue.

Addiction

Sometimes the things that help us cope with pain end up hurting us. Any form of self-medication can lead to an addiction, and I help clients understand and heal from the underlying causes of addictive issues like substance use disorders and compulsive behavior patterns with sex, relationships, work, etc.

Neurodiversity

We all have different gifts and challenges. I have received specialized education and training on providing mental health services to neurodiverse individuals, including people with autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, and other developmental and intellectual differences.
