Spring Cleaning

Spring is here! In honor of the new season, maybe some mental spring cleaning is in order? Now is a great time to take an audit of your wellbeing and decide on any areas that need improvement. You might even consider a short self-care retreat to help you reset, recharge, and gain energy to put into your next round of endeavors. In deciding where to focus your energy, consider some of the following activities:

Time Audit – Take a sheet of paper and list the most important aspects of your life, the things you value the most. Now list the things that have taken up most of your time and energy in the past six weeks. If these two lists are too far out of balance, it becomes hard to feel content, connected, and purposeful. Try making some adjustments to your routine to make sure the people, activities, and priorities you value the most in life are honored with your time and attention each day

Self-Care Retreat – Spring Break shouldn’t just be for the kids! If you can budget the time, try taking a small retreat for yourself sometime in the next few weeks to focus solely on your self-care. Even if you can only take a few hours, try to set aside a small block of time and fill it with the activities that are most important to your wellbeing

Assess Relationships – Energy is as valuable a commodity as our time, and it’s just a fact of life that some relationships change and deplete our energy differently than others. If your energy is negatively impacted or drained around certain people, it might be time to assess your relationship boundaries. Paying attention to your own needs can help you decide how to approach each relationship in order to feel connected instead of burdened and burnt out. That doesn’t mean you have to cut anyone off, but sometimes skills like learning how to say ‘no, thank you’ or speaking up for your opinions and needs can positively impact your relationships and your personal wellbeing
